Options include:

Sawcut, remove & replace – this very effective method of repair addresses the underlying problem, saving money in the long run.
Mill to specified depth and replace – deteriorated asphalt is removed and new asphalt is installed.
Skin patching – the method resurfaces over the existing deteriorated pavement (this is only recommended if the owner is looking for a quick fix until such time that the pavement can be either reconstructed or rehabilitated).
