Suburban Asphalt is growing! We are in search of a motivated, qualified, experienced full time licensed mechanic to work on and repair our trucks, trailers, and equipment in our new state of the art shop in New Berlin! Our emphasis is on safety, reliability and DOT compliance for our fleet of vehicles. This position will work closely with shop supervisor, truck drivers, crew foremen and loader operators.
Duties include but are not limited to:
– Repair of vehicles and equipment along with providing preventative maintenance.
– Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
– Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
– Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
– May be required to travel to the job site for repairs or troubleshoot equipment
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:
– Experienced full time mechanic to work on and repair trucks, trailers, and equipment.
– Ability to troubleshoot and repair the following: diesel and gas engines, suspensions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and air brakes.
– Prior construction industry equipment experience and having own tools preferred
– Good verbal communication skills
